the picture on the right is a detail from an original 1930s print by David Low who was an important british cartoonist at that time, we seek out prints and cartoons with a boxing theme, or picturing famous boxers, or related to boxing in some way, from 1750 throu to 1950

Boxing Cartoons and Print Collection

antique engraving circa 1895 boxing as a sport has been established since around 1860 although prizefighting goes back a lot further, and the art of boxing is as old as time itself!!

antique prints and cartoons that have been produced and that are available today are pretty rare and hard to find, we try to have a selection of cartoons from punch magazine - which was a famous humorous magazine in England from 1860-1950, as well as whatever else we can uncover, sometimes we have engravings from 1870-1900 these would normally be black and white not color and would be from a "gentleman's sporting" publication of some kind, sometimes too we have portraits of historical boxers but these are even rarer.
